Heslby High School have got behind Interburns K2D and are making a big difference. They have adopted us as one of their official charities and are undertaking a variety of fund-raising. Their charity reps from each of the years have taken a keen interest and attended presentations about both Interburns work in general and a talk about the ride. The school has produced an information board to explain the charity and it’s work. The first ‘Own Clothes’ day has raised £469.35. A further two events have raised £876 and £1700 respectively bringing their total contributions to £3045 and rising. This money will be going towards producing the latest training manuals and improvements to children’s wards. Many thanks Helsby. Please see the following link to the schools website and it’s charity work:
Thankyou to all of the pupils and staff there for their continuing support and interest. They received a video message of thanks from Opuku Ware, the Director of the Korle Bu Burns Unit in Ghana explaining how their funds would be used ( http://youtu.be/j2X_QASdJoI ) for both training and to improve the childrens ward.
Sian has visited the school twice to give further talks on burns care and the benefits that Helsby’s contributions would be making towards this in developing countries.
